One of the most famous portraits taken of the great Jewish slugger is found on this Vintage 1934 ORIGINAL News Service Photo issued by the Associated Press. It is one of Hank Greenberg’s mist recognizable portraits, seen in many books and publications over the years and instantly recognizable as THE image used for his 1936 baseball cards produced by the Goudey Gum Co. two years later in 1936 (the 1936 Goudey R322 set and the 1936 Goudey R314 Wide Pen set). Photo measuring 5” x 7” has the original AP stamp and date along with a caption snipe on the verso. The baseball cards below are shown for a visual reference and are not included.
