Beatles Snapshot 1

The photograph was taken during the filming of a documentary by Manchester based BBC TV producer Don Haworth entitled ‘The Mersey Sound’. The documentary was aimed at capturing the essence and atmosphere of the Mersey Beat sound. This particular photograph was taken on Thursday 29th August 1963 on a ferry travelling between Liverpool Pier and Wallasey. The group were filmed walking around signing autographs and looking over the bow of the boat. Later in the day they were filmed at Speke airport where they acted out an airport arrival.
